Student Course Planning Committee
To 1. Aid faculty in decisions on which courses are offered over coming semesters by querying current students about courses they would like to see, 2. Develop recommended tracks for incoming graduate students (now available on the Resources page), 3. Organize an “Effective Communications in Science” course in the department; a list of possible topics has been compiled and is available here.

Committee for Teaching Excellence
To unify individual lab quality improvements and to encourage TAs to improve their teaching skills.

Social Events Committee
The purpose of the social events committee is to organize departmental social events (i.e. Physics Thanksgiving, picnics, etc.) and to meet and share our experiences with prospective graduate students so that they may be familiar with a few students when they arrive in the department. The social events committee chair also acts as the public outreach liaison. The public outreach liaison is responsible for organizing events and information for the non-physics community to promote a general increase of interest in physics.
